When I was going through a rough time in my life with people who would hurt me in our relationship whether it was business, friendship or romantic. When I heard this message, it really sunk into my heart.
Sometimes we grow up yearning for others acceptance of us, most commonly it's our parents. It's amazing how you'll see in some family lines the great grandfather was a doctor we'll say for instance in this example, grandfather was a doctor, father was a doctor, son or daughter becomes a doctor. Even in some cultures, if you don't follow the same career path as your parents it is of the utmost disrespect and your banned from the family.
Maybe it's that romantic relationship you're in, you've been in for many years and your afraid to break it off because you feel you won't find anything like it again? Why is it that people are in abusive relationships physical or verbal, sometimes it's the thought of this is it and this is all that was given to me and I can never have anything better. Or maybe you're in a relationship where it's incredible in some aspects, but somewhere deep inside you know it just doesn't feel right, something is missing or parts of your relationship don't align with your blueprint.
What about those friends who you've known for so many years and they just don't treat you right, but you still hang out with them because you feel accepted? You MUST obtain the gift of goodbye, you have to know when it's time to let someone go. These relationships that we're hanging on to in most cases can hold us back for years if not most of our life. Do you want to grow old with the pain of regret, the pain of disappointment, the pain of not knowing what could have been?
You have to love yourself before you can love others, building your inner wealth helps you obtain external wealth in so many ways you could never imagine possible. If you don't love you, you can't love others. If your internal health isn't good, you can't help your family, your friends, your loved ones. Love yourself enough to be honest with yourself, don't start tomorrow, start today.
